Same…but different. The redesign of UE Boom and Megaboom leverages iconic elements of the previous gen while giving new life to usability and materials.
A uniquely indestructible acoustic fabric was crafted from cationic-polyester and polyamid fibers that are engineered to accept different dyes. The combination creates a dynamic two-tone technical fabric with colorways that reflect active urban and outdoor landscapes where the speakers are used.
The front rubber strap was removed to reveal the new fabric, where the iconic volume buttons are now embedded into the fabric using techniques borrowed from the footwear industry.
The size of the Boom and Megaboom was finely tuned to optimize sound, portability, and to enable the speakers to float.
Lastly, the UI is refreshed with one-touch access to playlists for supported music services, the charge port moved to a more logical location on the back, and wireless contacts are added to the bottom for compatibility with a wireless charging dock.
